The EG offset calibrations are stored to tape. The OB-8 has probably the easiest calibrations of any analog polysynth. It is really well done. You essentially just use the first 8 keys to select the voices and then adjust the trimmers until 2 LEDs light up.

which trimmers???

That's a great price today!

I got mine in 1992 with many keys that didn't play (but the rest was working) for $175...

Okay last issues: there is no volume until I hit 10:00 on my obie, and 2 voices are much louder than others.. a couple. It's like they are not adhearing to the filters/resonance all the way.. its much louder than the others, much more noticeable in 4 pole mode and when i have resonance cranked up ( its not loud with the resonance sound, just raw loud, while the others are acting accordingly to the filters...

and 65% of the time, right after I tune... Only One voice is beating like, both oscillators do not match at all... the voice is on two seperate notes...

These problems are due to voices 5, and 6 as originally suspected

Send it to Greg Montalbano in Oakland (http://analogsynthservice.com/). He got my P-5 Rev 1 working perfectly and tuned up in less than 2 weeks...

+1 on Greg. He's worked on my Prophet as well... good tech.
