Money Mark's Minimoog Trick
Greetings fellow earthlings,
(This topic may already have been visited.)
For those of you who have seen the Moog documentary from nine years ago, can any of you tell me which input on the back panel of the Minimoog D Money Mark plugged the microphone into to get that crazy pitch trigger effect? Can it be done with a Voyager?

Re: Money Mark's Minimoog Trick
I haven't seen the video, so I don't know what the trick is, exactly.
However, there is an external audio input on the MiniMoog and I believe there is also an external input on the Voyager.
One popular trick Mini players would do it run a cable from the Low Output and run it back into the External Audio input to overdrive the sound.

Right here at the beginning. Sounds like the synth is triggering and pitch tracking.

Re: Money Mark's Minimoog Trick
Looks and sounds like he's got a mic running into a distortion pedal and then into the Mini's external audio input and mucking about with the filter.
I don't see anything plugged into where the pitch CV input is.

Who is Money Mark? An alias of Mark Wahlberg´s?
Am I the only one to think this film was appalling?

The whole film or just that segment of it?

Re: Money Mark's Minimoog Trick
No, you're certainly not the only one. A friend of mine and fellow Moog player bought it and was very unimpressed, to put it mildly. He lent it to me so I could have a laugh at idiots like Money Mark, too. Apart from the small amounts of footage of Bob Moog, we both thought the rest was so bad it was an embarrassment to Moog.ppg_wavecomputer wrote:Who is Money Mark? An alias of Mark Wahlberg´s?

The whole film. This segment was particularly embarrassing, though... almost as embarrassing as the interview bit with Rick Wakeman making sure all the time that the wall won´t fall over.MrFrodo wrote:The whole film or just that segment of it?
A waste of potential.

Re: Money Mark's Minimoog Trick
For me, it was worth the whole thing just for the interview segments with Herbert Deutsch.

I enjoyed it. Somehow don't think Wakeman lost any sleep over his appearance in it.ppg_wavecomputer wrote:The whole film.MrFrodo wrote:The whole film or just that segment of it?

I can tell you guys aren't fans of theirs. (I'm not either, but I don't think they "suck.")Cumulus wrote:Yeah. The Beastie Boys still suck.ppg_wavecomputer wrote:Now that you mention it.jaypodesta wrote: Money Mark and The Beastie Boys - not ring any bells?
