Winner must show proof of social security number to the Bob Moog Foundation.

Does this mean that non-US citizens can't participate? The rules are not that clear...

Good question. You could probably email them and ask, there's plenty of time left before the deadline.

That would be odd - the last competition was won by an Australian, and was a worldwide thing. I'm in, too, from the UK.

This may be a part of the answer:
Please review our Terms and Conditions before purchase, as they have changed for this year.

I'll leave a note on the page.

Well, it seems they didn't care to answer, because my question isn't displayed on their webpage. When I left it, there was a message that the publishing was on hold before a moderator would see it. But it just vanished...

I believe it's not a problem if you live in the USA, but I really don't feel comfortable to enter the raffle because of this now.

The whole affair looks a bit flakey, just like the entire Foundation thingy... desperately trying to raise funds and get attention, by any means.

But that´s only me, of course.

If I won this "legendary sonic superstar," it would be on Ebay the next day.

I believe it is open to participants worldwide given they will pay up to $200 for shipping, but you are responsible for customs or extra shipping.

The social security bit only applies to US residents because there have been new tax laws on prizes where they can now be considered income, so the foundation needs to report your SSN to the IRS as if they were an employer.
bonne chance

Phew... (*wipes sweat off of forehead*).

Now I´m relieved.

I find this bit of text a bit misleading, to say te least:

"When asked about this particular Minimoog, Rich said that most of the modifications he did were for artists who had reached a fair level of popularity. We are working on uncovering the provenance of this particular synthesizer, but it’s likely that it belonged to someone who was relatively accomplished."

So it isn´t actually Gary Numan´s Mini Moog, it has just been sigend by him. What´s the point of that? I mean, I was once tempted to have Klaus Schulze sign my Mini Moog but why the heck...? I´m glad I idn´t have him do that.

Eh. If $20 gets me a shot at a Minimoog, that's a worthwhile gamble. I'm quite certain my odds are going to be better than buying an equivalent number of lotto tickets.
