Not sure what the deal is with this article http://www.brokenbeat.ca/roland-introdu ... 08-sounds/

I do. You wrote it to bring traffic to your fugazi blogsite. Not in the least bit funny or necessary, with your one post count.

An obviously made-up piece of s**t. Why would a Roland "spokesperson" say something as completely nonsensical as, "We at Roland have completely run out of innovative ideas so we have decided to just rehash our old classic TR-808"?

This just shows that any moron can start a blog.

Is "fugazi" a code word for "lame as f**k"? If so, I agree. :D

if this listing is accurate, its VA, 16 outs.
Honestly im interested, i dont think being analog makes a particularly better drum sound. I have a Tempest but dont use it a lot for percussion, I tend to go back to samples in ableton racks for drums most of the time. A nice knob per function stand alone step sequencer would find a home in my arsenal, particularly with 16 outs. What i'd really like is it to record knob movements like the MFB Tanzbar does, hopefully that's the case.

That Swedish translated page is awesome. BUT, it has two questions....

Says NO USB. Can that be an accurate point? Maybe it has no MIDI thorugh USB or something...I can't imagine this having...no way to connect to a computer...or have any transfer/storage through USB.

And second it has multiple outs, but that can't mean individual 1/4 outs in the back, can it? Looks too small.....
But maybe if the USB part is wrong, then it's 16 virtual outs via USB (into your DAW as channels).

The last drum-groover-box SP-555 had an audio interface and more through USB.
Oh, I can't wait to find out more.

saw the USB thing too, thought it was odd...would be very surprised if it didnt have midi over usb, gonna assume they dont have that info yet.

As for it not being big enough for 16 outs, i would assume they're the same as the tempest in that they're 8 stereo outs, pan one sound hard left, pan one hard right, use a Y insert cable and bam, two outputs from one hole.

I don't know, how could they fit 16 outs onto something that weighs 1kg and is 0x0x0cm? If my calculations are correct it's mass will be infinite and any leads you plug into it will be crushed as soon as they pass the event horizon. On the plus side, the bass is sure to be quite heavy.

So, do you guys think this machine will do only 808 emulation or other TRs as well? Or is there a TR-09 on the horizon?

Here is a high-res photo that was posted on GS. It seems you can select kits and "inst", also has "inst play" and "inst rec". Oh, and it's called TR-8. Not 08.

If the text across from the accent dial is 'reverb' like it looks from that image, then I would argue there is definitely something digital going on.

The sound layout matches a 909 exactly.
Yeah, especially now that we can see the "kit" buttons on the unit. And it would be very nice to have proper 808 and 909, possibly more, in one nice box.

So we got this.. And there will be two more? So a TB-3 bass and a SH-101 thingy? Or a poly?

There is a difference between the .co.uk and the .com versions of the AIRA website. The UK site has 8 "slots", while the .com site has 4.. What's the deal with that?

I just thought it was gonna be stages to reveal different parts of the same product. Although that points to it being a AKAI MPC Ren type situation.

Also, I keep writing long posts and then deleting them when I realise that I'm just aimlessly speculating.

Haha, but it's fun to speculate.. I have to admit I'm quite excited about this.
