Just preordered mine. Really hoping the assignable outs will be able to trigger my Juno 60s arp.

So it seems that in a future update for the TR-8 will be the 707 sounds as the guy mentions at 01:20 in this video

I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

I'd like to see them make the arpeggiator programmable, plus upgrade the patch memory - eight patches is laughable.
I'd also like to see increased polyphony, but that probably won't happen. Other than that, I like what I see/hear so far.

from the #AskAira Q&A--- Does the Roland System-1 respond to or transmit velocity?
-At this moment in time the firmware for the System-1 has not been finalised so we are unable to comment on this.

if you've been keeping up, there really isn't much insight offered, but you can read more here- http://www.roland.co.uk/blog/roland-ask ... duct-range

Latest Aira box shown at Messe...a synch box that does MIDI, CV/gate and sync24.

I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Their new SYNC box is really appealing, even though there is no information.

I'm also interested in seeing what synths they "ACB" for the system-1, I like the idea of dropping a VST into hardware and being able to use it while unplugged from a computer.

Hi All..just to let you know i had my hands on the TR 8 TR 3 today...A...MAZING

The TR 8 WILL blow your wigs off....the BASS KICK is HUGE. and will blow many a speaker.
was a bit worried about the cymbals as sounded weaker from 909 you tube comparisons.
make your own minds up there.

was hoping the pads were of a rubber kind, but were perspex style...the sliders are mint and the rubber
knobs tactile...it weighs hardly anything, and is the size of a 707 or thereabouts.

you will be playing with this for a long time to come, guy in shop said there could be a new connector box
being launched in order to make it more flexable with other older equipment.

TR3 i didnt get into it much as i dont really feel there is going to be another acid movement, so only has interest
for me in the extra bass sounds provided and not the 303 sounds.

get my hands on the TR 8 FRIDAY....NO SLEEP TILL BROOKLYN.

I think it's been available in Japan for a week or so, but I might be wrong.

Does anyone know when the sync box will be available?

The Sync Box is an experimental device from the R&D

I'm not sure if you know what blows speakers, it's mostly uncontrollable low frequency resonance and hard clipping which sends DC to the voice coil, melting it. If the TR 8 is putting out any of these things it's malfunctioning, with proper gain structuring no speakers will be blown. ;)

Youtube audio compression is most noticeable on high frequency noise type instruments, ie cymbals. If there's one thing you can't judge from youtube clips it's the sound of cymbals.

The sync box prototype has an early 90's ugliness to it that I quite like. haha

I that it's the closest were gonna get to a new Roland analog.

Heres some posts from GS..

Oh by the way Roland aficionados I read today that Roland were very active around lots of analogue stalls at recent Messe.

They also have a new division called RPG which is separate from other Roland developments and supposedly is focusing on something analogue.

So maybe next NAMM or Messe we may be in for a real treat.

Isn't Roland Professional Group (RPG) the division of Roland that the Aira boxes are made by?
Yes, Aira series are the first products from RPG.

The japanese interview is quite interesting.
Translation by Google is bad but as far as I get it, they were considering analog for the Aira series but decided not to because it (modern analog) didn't sound close enough.
