First units are "Bob tribute" models ala Little Phatty, $1579 at Moog site. Wonder how much cheaper the eventual non-tribute model will be?
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Owning a Little Phatty Stage 2, the first Sub Phatty wasn't that interesting to me. But this one is certainly at the top of my list now. That's one amazing little analog machine.

That video was fantastic :) I know most of you have forgotten more about synths than I know, but it was striking to see someone like Amos who actually seems to fully comprehend the instrument and its capabilities when you think of all of the other button pushers you usually see in these types of vids. I'm guessing Moog will sell an equal number of these instruments based on Amos' performance in the video as the Sub37's performance.

another vid..

y'know, im kinda surprised this isn't the longest thread in VSE history already with all the moog poly clamoring that has always gone on, perhaps because it's just a two voice?

tell you what, it's nice to see a full front panel from moog again! envelope looping.. dunno if I've seen that anywhere in a long long time except via a patch on a modular or ms-20 or something. nice feature.

It's not a two voice, it's a mono that can have two different pitches played by its two oscs.

It's velocity-sensitive? Nifty.

I couldn't even pay attention to the video because I kept on watching that nerd j**k off the Voyager in the background.

This is an excellent looking synth, anything extra such as adding step sequencing using the preset buttons, or arp swing, would only add to what I think is already an amazing looking product. The first synth in the few years since I sold everything that made me want it.

Is it me or does the guy sound a bit drunk? Got a Steve Brule vibe going on.

It is not polyphonic and the reason is simple: The word polyphonic means that it has two independent voices in which each one is an independent melody. Those two or more melodies can create parallelism or can move in contrary ways which in this case it doesn´t, so it is not 8-) .

That's "polyphonic" in the classical music sense. "Polyphonic" when referring to synthesizers means each voice runs through a separate envelope and filter, instead of sharing one. Both of these voices have the ability to have independent pitches but share the same envelope/filter, so it is paraphonic.
