Really like the look of it, the blue backlit pads look great.

$399, ouch
Although it does a lot more than the old Trigger Finger
Nice to see that it still has a real MIDI out

I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Re: M-Audio Trigger Finger Pro has a MIDI step sequencer
I've watched both videos and I'm still confused....
So there's NO SEQUENCER on board, but instead it...does what with the 16 steps?
Each one is a particular key/note?
Or is it for controlling the sequencer of THEIR wrapper/shell/vst/bridge program?
I see the transport controls so I figure it's to start and stop my DAW...etc....
BUT how would any drum program....work from those steps?
----------------
Oh and I thought the AKAI MPK49 missed a monstrous boat by not having a sequencer on board (especially for that cost). I figured an MPC keyboard would be the next logical step for them, but no, it never happened.
And it does make me wonder why no one has rolled out a standalone drum machine + sampling + keyboard.

Re: M-Audio Trigger Finger Pro has a MIDI step sequencer
According to M-Audio, there is a step sequencer built in (not just pads for one).

Oh wow. That is now super ace.
Which is wild, since it feels like all these products are coming out too late.
I mean, I got a bunch of stuff already....
THIS was needed when NI had Battery as their main drum thingy.
Oh I wish I had something proper to trigger it back then.
And the VST (2 of them) seem pretty interesting. Is is like Maschine in many ways....
Where as, I use Maschine to host everything, this is like an extension for whatever you already use.
Alesis has a sexy controller line coming too.
So far, I haven't seen a new product I kinda don't want....
