Perhaps what might make a great kit would be a full size snap together collection. One box containing kits for MS-20, MS-50 and SQ-10. That I might really go for.

Perhaps they could throw that in too.

The VC-10 is probably the worst vocoder ever made. They really shouldn't remake that, it'll put people off the whole reissue thing.

I was the first to think "yeah, well... that's not really for me. I'm cool with my Mini."
But I was at NAMM, and the first day, before opening, I went straight to the Korg booth. The moment I saw it, I thought "I want this." I can't explain or justify it, but I suspect that it was just nice to see it "full-sized." I'm not anti-Mini... I love mine. I never think "I can't do anything with this because it's too small." But I don't know. It's nice.

As for "I would never pay this much for that when I could pay that much for this," come on. Either you want the sound of the MS-20, or you want a different synthesizer. If you say you could buy two Minis for that price, well, fair enough.

Always liked the look of it though. Can't explain why exactly. But...

Sweetwater called me today to confirm my MS-20 kit order. The guy on the phone told me the USA is only getting 150 units, not 200 as we were thinking. I'm not sure how long 150 units will take to sell but just wanted to share that.

Oh yeah it looks awesome, the VU meter and teh gooseneck mic and everything, the issue is with the sound.

Stop talking like that, I'll soon have to order one of these myself! It would be nice not having to worry about jacks ripping off etc.. Could always cut the Mini into pieces and put it on top of the Kit for extra modulation

But the Sub 37 is quite an attractive piece for the same price range... Too many cool things, too little money (and time) :(

This NAMM seemed to have very few releases, but all of them make a list of possibles.

Yeah. That's pretty much spot on in terms if aesthetics!

I'm still looking for a couple of the small knobs for my original 80s MS-20, if anyone has two for sale I'll pay top dollar for them (within reason ;)

So, has somebody here received the kit yet? I contacted Thomann and they gave me a new ETA of 18 March, when they should receive the first or only batch of kits. I should get one from this batch. Some at GS have already received theirs.

My MS-20 Kit arrived this weekend but I'm out of town. Looking forward to coming home next week and putting it all together.

Cheers.
