Re: Arturia Beat Step---$99 CV step sequencer!
aside from the sequencing duties i'm interested in this as a midi controller for the Blofeld.
it'd map tidily as it's sectioned off with four knobs to a section just like the Blofeld.

Re: Arturia Beat Step---$99 CV step sequencer!
Really a pity that this sequencer will only work properly as a master in standalone operation... Also, since that's the case, a BPM indicator would have been good... Still a nice piece, gonna get one as well.
Aparently there will be a Dark Time-styled standalone version as well, looking very much forward to that!
You're gonna love the new Doepfer trigger sequencer: http://www.doepfer.de/a157nathanscribe wrote:This looks great, and I'll definitely be having one... what I'd like to see next is something similar with trigger outputs, say 4 to 8, for triggering external drum modules etc.

TRS adapters should be fine I guess, never had any problems with those for CV. Use them all the time.sequentialsoftshock wrote:I can't tell in the photos or the specs at Nova, but is the CV out a 1/8" jack or a regular 1/4" ? It looks pretty tiny, so I thought I'd ask. If it is 1/8", what kind of adapter would I need to go to 1/4" ? Assuming a TRS headphone adapter wouldn't fit the bill...

I just checked and with a Kenton MIDI USB Host, the Beatstep with sync to external clock. So, for an additional $155 US, you can get MIDI in without need for a computer...still an extra box. The Kenton does power the Beatstep though the USB connector though.

I bought this for my MacBeth M5 modular. Best thing I ever did for it. Works like a charm. My Future Retro Orb will end up collecting some dust now. Highly recommended. 5/5

The new firmware updates have now made this a must-buy for me:

didn't see any mention of fixing the CV votlage offset bug that had been mentioned previously.Ned Bouhalassa wrote:The new firmware updates have now made this a must-buy for me:

Was that already addressed, or is it still an outstanding bug?

Dunno. But I'll tell you what I do know: just like with the MiniBrute, even though the BeatStep is all over the US, we're still waiting here across the Northern border for ours. Pathetic, Arturia. Et je croyais qu'on étaient des cousins québécois... That said, it's probably not available in France either.
