I've got two retailers telling me that Korg told them (on the day of the NAMM show) it would be available immediately after NAMM, but that Rich guy in the videos keeps saying "sometime in March or April". :?:
Ok folks, just got the word (and everybody's heard that the bird is the... oh, never mind.)

Sweetwater is getting their initial shipments of the black and orange Arp Odyssey today! But those are all allocated to pre-orders, so if you pre-ordered from Sweetwater early, yay for you! The second shipment comes in 3 weeks as does their Whiteface (which is also also sold out to pre-orders. Their second Whiteface shipment will come by April.)

Guitar Center is getting 38 units in on Wednesday; no word if these are sold out to pre-orders or not.

And I am still waiting to hear from my little indie shop (who was supposed to get it in first like they did with the Moog Sub 37) when they're shipment is coming in... should know in about an hour.

As soon as I get mine in, I'll try to do a video demo which you'll find on my Youtube channel here.

Is it just me, or do all of the Korg ARP Odyssey demo clips to date suck?

Is it just me, or does the MS-20 mini sound way better than what we've heard in these Odyssey demos?

My guess is that the Odyssey clips to date don't do the synth justice.

RetroSound on youtube has posted a couple nice videos too. Recorded in his home studio not a noisy showroom floor.

Sounds fine to me. Guess it's just taste. Obviously they're on a convention centre floor, so they ain't going to be building perfect patches, but I think the videos give one a pretty good idea of what it will sound like.

Though the retro sound one isn't obviously.

Here's another one. I'm anxiously waiting for my whiteface to arrive from Sweetwater. :D

Sweetwater tells me that Korg's telling them March 18th. Oy, shades of the MS-20 Mini release...

I've been checking the website frequently and they just say shipping in March for the preorder.
I learned long ago, as professional a retailer as Sweetwater is, you'll get 10 different answers from 10 different sales reps in regards to shipping dates of preorder items.
Hopefully, that is the TRUE date.

Does anyone know where these are being manufactured? China I assume.
Were there many quality control issues with the Mini-20?

There were delays - I don't know if it was QC, or if they'd just grossly underestimated the demand, but I ordered mine in early June of 2013 and didn't actually get it until October.

It's just a KORG bonus. You know how KORG includes delays with many of their synths. It's probably a nice gritty digital delay. :keys1:

But the timeline is broken. Unless he's talking about ANOTHER synth. We have created a space-time paradox here.
