i've never seen one in person but a lot of the real world pics i see (rather than the manufacturer headshots) online have a gap between the middle B and C.
wondering if this is simply an artifact of head on vantage point pics or if there actually is a larger gap at that point.
can anyone who owns one confirm or deny this?

Yup, that gap is a bit bigger than the others.

That gap is carefully sized so the VCO tracks the pitch precisely.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

That gap is used for a tuning reference... blow through the gap and it should whistle a precise middle C note.
