VSE Disco Competition - ends June 1st/14

Post by Infinity Curve » Fri May 02, 2014 5:21 pm

So here we go with another friendly competition. The last one had quite a few participants so hopefully we can do even better this time.

No rules really. Make a disco song using whatever you want, however you want. It can be old school disco, electro disco, whatever, just has to have that disco groove. I think it will be quite interesting to hear different peoples takes on the genre and how they incorporate their own style to it.

I think June 1st makes sense for the cutoff, but as in the last comp, if enough people need a little extra time, no worries. The idea here is to have fun and get as many people involved as we can.

As the closing date approaches I will setup a soundcloud account like last time and people can PM me for log-in info.

Alright, guess that about covers it. Let's get this party started! :dancer:

Disco? Certainly a new avenue for me, but it sounds like fun. Count me in.

I can't make any promises yet, but I may jump into this.

I'd say it is fine, unless you are planning on just sampling whole bars of a song and not doing anything to them except looping it.

Is it one song per person? That makes the most sense to me, but just checking.

Yes, one song per person. The way it will work is as the end of the competition approaches you will need to message me for the log-in info for the soundcloud page I will setup, everybody uploads their track anonymously and I setup a poll thread with links to all of the songs; leave that up and after a week or 2 the song with the most votes wins.
