Re: DSI speculation
Wait, wasn't there supposed to be a keyboard version of the Tempest? Whatever happened to that?
Failing that, I would have to assume a mono-P12... 4-voices might be kind of cool, but it will then fall into that same "too few/too many" paradox that I always felt the PEK suffered from.

Mono p12, without a doubt.
I'm so confident I'm correct that If I'm wrong I'll write everyone in this thread a check for $1000.00
(Disclaimer: I will not actually be writing any checks)

Re: DSI speculation
Did someone see a Joystick?
Perhaps a new VS or synth based on Vector Synthesis. That was one of Dave's specialities, recording the joystick movement between four sources. Endless possibilities with today,s digital electronics. Four quadrant looping enevlopes or quad modulation sources, morphing patches? Could be fun!

Re: DSI speculation
I'm mostly guessing, but the side of the synth doesn't appear to have enough room for 2 mod wheels. Wishful thinking, but I want a 4 voice VS or someting similar.

Re: DSI speculation
A 'Prophet 6' (six-voice P12) would be nice, and possibly within my budget.

Re: DSI speculation
Dave has already done the 4 voice and mono thing. I would have to agree with above about 6 voices. But judging from the photo, that keyboard is no more than 3 octaves..
6 Voice, Multi-timbral, with awesome sequencer (remember, Dave said he doesn't like having to click a mouse and move things around on a computer screen), on-board chorus and reverb, with compact 3 octave keyboard..
So basically, I think Dave took a Prophet 12, a Pro-One, and a Multi-Trak, put them in a blender, and out came this new synth! With a little DSI magic sprinkled in, for good measure.

Re: DSI speculation
In the past the majority of his announcements have come at shows. I may be wrong, but I think he did announce something in between, too.

Re: DSI speculation
Apparently, DSI plan to make an announcement before the Summer NAMM. On June 11, they posted on their Facebook site that they are going to make an announcement next week. I guess they'll also say something about the release date by then.sol-bass-rec wrote:Does Dave release before or during the Nashville show?

Re: DSI speculation
An 8 or 10 voice Poly Evolver with arpeggiator would do me fine. But maybe I'll wait until the Prophet 12 module comes down in price.

Re: DSI speculation
Don't get me wrong, I love that DSI added a "sequencer" to the Prophet 12 later on, but it's quite, I dunno, clunky. I'd like to see a mono based on the Prophet 12, with a Microbrute style sequencer that has ties and accents. Lose the touch pads but keep their implementation.

its the new polyphonic moog and he's just endorsing it... obviously
