Oh yeah! Check this Battlestar girl out (Athena)! She has gone modular. There was analog synthesis on the Galactica itself, and strapped to Athena's leg. Rumor has it, Dave Smith and Roger Lynn based the Tempest on that thing!

I thought thiswas interesting.
The Nord Lead is their first foray into the arcane world of synthesis, and the instrument itself (which they call 'nord lead' in a lower-case typeface chosen to look suspiciously like the old Moog logo) is what they call a VAS, or Virtual Analogue Synthesis instrument. This, they claim, combines classic ideas with today's technology.
Never really thought about it much, but I do like the font on the Prophet 08
