why would anyone own 3 moog voyagers?

Post by corndogssg » Fri Sep 26, 2014 8:20 am

I was just reading a post and read about someone who had 3 moog voyagers. ??? I mean I can see having a little phatty and some slims too to poly chain, but 3 voyagers? what's the reason behind that? I would love to have just one!

another post I read someone said they had something like 7 jd 990's, atm that's the next synth is wanna get, hey who ever that was, I think you can get buy just fine with 6 and sell me one :D

I am not really understanding why someone would have multiple synths, well I can if it is vintage stuff and you want to have spare parts for when s**t breaks. but can someone please shed some light on the multiple synths for me???

A spare.

...and a spare for the spare.

...and a spare for the spares spare.

...and in case you can't be screwed walking to the other side of the room. A spare for that.

...Oh and if inspiration strikes while you're making a brown note...

You get the picture. :P

Maybe for live use (if you are Geoff Downes or someone like that)? If you want to quickly use three different sounds in one song, that may be the option.
Casio CZ-1, Elektronika EM-25, Yamaha TX81Z, Roland JV-2080, Novation KS-rack, Korg Poly 800, Casio SK-1, Casio SK-8, Vermona E-piano, Akai S2000, Roland SP 404, Roland TR 505, Yamaha MR 10, Yamaha RX 5 and more

Same reason some people have walk-in closets and 3 swimming pools. Because they can.

For sequencing applications.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Because i can :p

Im also down to two anyway. I never used the third XD also if you shop long enough you can get sweet a*s used prices

But a serious answer:

1 is dedicated mean bass and 1 is dedicated whacky sound box. The voyager is surprisingly good at noisey erratic kind of sounds. When controlled with elektron's md, i can p lock parameter changes, and get bad a*s results. Also p'locking program change messages is really cool too.

Also i like the sound of the voyager, so then there's that :3

Just the other day I saw Bill Gates and Donald Trump walking down the street happily discussing stuff, while there was a homeless guy just 15 feet away from them trying to dig a peach-pit out of a dumpster. Gates and Trump didn't even notice the guy. What's up with that?

1 old school, 1 brushed aluminum with electric blue, and one awesome white one with green that looks like a lego space craft from '97.

Also because not everyone uses them exclusively for Bedroom style multitrack daw projects. 8-)
This looks like a psychotropic reaction. No wonder it's so popular...

Hans Zimmer used 8 MKS80's before samples

Why are there 16 first violinists in an orchestra?

Why does a choir have multiple sopranos, altos, tenors and basses?

Why does a drummer need more than one tom-tom

Why does a piano have 7 1/4 octaves?

Why did the Beatles write more than one song?

Why are you even querying the integrity of someone else's creativity decision making ?????
