I anticipated seeing funkier examples, considering that this is about basslines.

bee gees - jive talkin'

dazz band - let it whip

chaka

carl carlton

thumbs up to the votes for anything stevie/tonto. and double thumbs up for the pet shop boys west end girls bass line. my feeling is that some of the best produced basslines used a moog or something similar combined with a bass guitar. it's a great combination. you get that way bottom end and growl from the synth and a nice upper bass sound from the bass guitar.

There are lots ofc, but this was the first that came to mind:

And yep, it's a moog

What about The Gap Band "You dropped a bomb on me"? Or is that thick analog sound considered a lead instead of a bass?

Mmmm basslines, I like some of them:

Björk: Army of Me
Depeche Mode: People are people, more than a party, the things you said, world in my eyes, something to do.
Kraftwerk: It's more fun to compute, the robots.
Röyksopp: Vision one, Do it Again.
Gusgus: Over
Front 242: Take one.
Giorgio Moroder: chase.
George Michael Hard day
New order: fine time, Mr. Disco, vanishing point. Yes, blue monday is kind of overrated. New order has lots of great basslines.
Skinny puppy: Worlock.

Yeah I like basslines!

In electronic music, sequencers are as important as synths, they all modify your composition and playing

Christ, that Skuppy vid was somewhat on the ... disturbed side  :?

Haven't seen Mi Sex "Computer Games" mentioned yet (I know it's technically synth plus bass guitar, but those have always worked well for me)

Also from a similar vintage was Space invaders with it's rather Moroder-esque synth bass

And, not technically a synth, but at least an "electronically produced" bass line, this was the one that won me over as a kid: :D

Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls
The Cars - Drive (I think it's a synth - simple but effective)
Howard Jones - What is love (DX7?)
A-ha - Take on me
FGTH - Relax
