Sequencer for Korg MS-20
Hey guys,
I just bought an original Korg MS-20. It's amazing. I know people say just get the MS-20 mini, but I found something really special about the original. Who knows.
ANYWAYS, I'm looking at sequencers for it. What are my options? Googling anything just brings up info for the MS-20mini, which leads to discussions about USB MIDI, and that obviously won't work for me.
Looking for something affordable, but I'll take any suggestions!!!

If your looking for a step sequencer then check out the Doepfer Dark Time, just make sure you get the trigger mod done so it'll work with the MS.
There are lots of options depending on budget however.

You always want just one more Synth!

You can't use just any CV sequencer, since Korg's MS range uses a different scaling than 1V/Octave.
Re: Original Korg MS-20 Sequencer
You can, but you'll lose the pitch modulation CV input. Wrong trigger type is a bigger problem, but can be fixed with a specific cable.Bitexion wrote:You can't use just any CV sequencer, since Korg's MS range uses a different scaling than 1V/Octave.

Buy yourself a Korg EA-1 & a Kenton Pro Solo MK 2.
Here's a link to the Kenton : http://www.kentonuk.com/products/items/ ... solo.shtml

Er, OK. (I'm sure the OP could probably work out how to search the web for them, but I'll oblige).

This looks like a psychotropic reaction. No wonder it's so popular...

You guys are cracking me up...

I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Re: Original Korg MS-20 Sequencer
The Dark Time can send out unquantized CV so you can also use the Hz/V input and scale by ear (or tuner), step by step... That's how I use my MS20 + Dark Time combination mostly.Low Life wrote:You can, but you'll lose the pitch modulation CV input. The range you can get out of the supplied 5V is smaller though than with the V/Oct input, obviously...

Also unquantized CV only as far as I know...

Nothing lol there, there is, and it's called SQ-10. But it's probably even rarer than an MS-20.Psy_Free wrote:Unless he thinks there is an MS-20 sequencer (as opposed to an MS-20 synth)

Re: Sequencer for Korg MS-20
The MFB Urzwerg or urzwerg pro is capable and I prefer it over the darktime, it doesn't require any mod done if I recall correctly.
