The JD-xi may make a very good piece of gigging equipment with an external keyboard controller...

If that glossy front panel is anything like the FA06/08 - it'll be scratched to buggery before you know it.

I'll wait until a bit more info is available, but I'm not convinced at the moment.

In some ways, this looks like a possibly more flexible update of the SH-32. It seems to fill the same market niche. I have to say I'm liking it so far. Drum PCMs sound pretty crisp for a YouTube video. It's kind of like a groovebox + small keyboard. Maybe it'll have some fatal flaw, but even though it's kind of weird, I do have to say I'm interested. More interested than I was in the AIRA gear.

Right at the end JK asks the price the guys says $499 so I'm thinking the big brother around $1200 :-)

Exactly. Get someone who knows what they're doing.

I was trying to keep count of how many times he said, right? and lost count midway through.

Btw, I feel bad :( every time I see your tag line.
I read something by Senator Ted Cruz the other day that surpasses my earlier comment directed at your thread that day. :D

If that is only $499, microKorg is officially dead.

I'm sure there will be some annoying limitations as in all Rolands but the feature set of an analog mono coupled to both polyphonic VA and PCM, four track sequencing and multiFX is best in class for now.

The JD/Xa with poly analog should be even cooler.

I'm impressed even after such a c**p video, good comeback for Roland after the Aira stuff last year.

Even better. More cheapies for the MK army I'm building.

Stop feeling bad! I think it's funny, which is why I put it there. Sometimes I realize how stupid and time-wasting writing things on the internet is...but it doesn't mean it's not fun. :drinks:

Totally agree. Yeah, it's a groovebox, basically, but I like that. The analog component is cool, and the four-part sequencer makes it pretty usable, too.

It would be great for couch jamming, which I do a lot when my wife is the watching The Real Housewives. Anyway, it's much, much more capable and interesting than the AIRA synth that Roland pushed out a year ago.
