Re: Prophet 6
Another superb video, Marc.
I think the unison mode sounds brilliant. It is the way an analog synth's unison mode is "supposed" to sound. The phase-locked thunk of the Juno-106 has its musical place, but it's a very artificial sounding.
The P6 is one of the best sounding synths I've heard in a long time. Can't wait to get mine!

Sounds good from videos cheers AG. I don't care if it sounds like a p5 I just don't want it to sound like a DSI product.
I just can't get with their raw sound at all, which I feel bad about because Dave smith seems like a lovely cuddly wok of a dude and I'd love to support his company.
AG or anyone who has had experience from both, does it sound a lot different to say, mopho/tetra osc's?
I don't think it does but so hard to tell until it's in front of you.

Re: Prophet 6
I have the 08 and I think it's a great synth, the big question for me is how far apart in sound are they..?

Re: Prophet 6
Just got mine a week ago and made a quick live improv with a cohort. Not really a demo I guess and also includes a substantial amount of Yamaha CS-50 and a bit of Oberheim M1000. Look forward to diving deeper into this beast

Re: Prophet 6
I've really been trying hard to ignore the P6 altogether. Really and truly. In a weak moment, I clicked on the 'Poly Mod #2' video. And now this Unison one. Goddamnit Marc, this board is super cool!bhrama wrote:Unison Mode ala Marc Doty ==>
Thank you for making these videos and more importantly, sharing your pure excitement over what this thing can do!

What I love about the prophet 6 is people are now off loading their prophet 5 to get one.
And for that reason I now have a prophet 5....today.....

I wouldn't call this "off-loading" but..

Re: Prophet 6
Nothing close to those prices....maybe a one off but I am happy.

Re: Prophet 6
I love everything about it except having only 49 keys. It reminds me of the same limitations I had with my Alesis Ion. The Prophet 6 looks perfect and has everything that I had wished that my Prophet 5 had such as effects and an arpeggiator. But only 49 keys... man I can just scream... NO NO NO!!!!!!!!

Awesome demo, can you save the sequences and if so how many can you save? Thanks!

You can save one sequence with the sound program. If you switch sound programs the sequencer will continue to play without any stutter, so just save the sound several times with different sequences to build up life arrangements latersynthartist69 wrote: Awesome demo, can you save the sequences and if so how many can you save? You can also transpose in realtime.
It's a great synth!
Only thing I have some issues is the local off mode.
When I try to integrate the P6 into the DAW setup (LogicX), FX Mix display does not respond properly and buttons behave erratic. Is that just me?
