Excellent video Marc, I enjoyed this a lot.
Nice to see the Prophet 6 doing more than most of the videos and sound bytes we've had so far.
I've been on the fence whether I like it or not, or whether it's a potential purchase in the future, and I must admit I'm liking it more and more as the dust and initial excitement from NAMM settles down, and more demos exploring it's sonic potential are released.

Just as Moog had big shoes to fill with the release of the Voyager, and musicians with a high level of expectation, who were eager to point out the differences, I think the Prophet 6 because of it's name will be under the same intense scrutiny, expecting it to BE the Prophet 5 2015.

While I was never a fan of the Prophet 08, when I heard the Pro 2 I knew Dave had finally "nailed" the punchy, sizzly analog sound I was looking for. But never dreamed he would a)step up the game with a polyphonic analog as rich as this b)acquire the Sequential Circuits name.

Great job as always, thanks for posting... :)

I can't wait for the Unison Mode video. I wonder what it's like to get such VIP treatment, that Dave Smith tells you months in advance what they're working on and that you'll LOVE it.

The mighty Andromeda A6 has a similar unison feature, so I'm curious to hear this.
The A6 has 16 voices, and freely assignable amount of voices in unison, and also a spread that goes up to a semitone.
In this audio clip I'm just trying out unison with various amounts of voices and spread.
It divides its polyphony among the remaining voices too. Ofc 16 voices (32 VCOs) is bit bigger than 6/12 :)
I think you can hear pretty well when it's maxed out. I prefer as little spread as possible and just let the VCOs do their own thing. It sounds alot more pleasant when they're all fighting for the same frequency rather than the mushy unison spread.

Can you top THAT, Mr Doty? :ugeek:

FISH SLAPPING DANCE! YAYYY!

Okay, what was the other stuff you said? ;)

Naw, the Andromeda is very powerful... and I can't condemn it because I'm friends with one of the people who is responsible for it!
But I have to say I favor the Prophet 6 interface over the Andromeda!

JRR Shop sent out an email today saying P6 "Now Shipping!"
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Good news, Sweetwater emailed me yesterday and I should have mine Monday. Not sure how many they received, but I was 18th on the list and ordered 1/23. Hope this helps those waiting!

I'd do one with my new JP6, but until I get the scaling adjusted it's kind of already in detune mode...
