Re: Prophet 6
Do you even post on vse bro?
Re: Prophet 6
SO you can snag the new Prophet 6 for $2800 and then drop another $400 on the Akai 2 octave polysynth. Why just 2 octaves, makes so little sense. The Prophet looks amazing tho. Out of my budget, but very cool

Well got fired 2 weeks ago so trying to get a new job, stuff is going on credit at the moment so hafta dig back out of that and I have 3 kids, so a $3000 synth isn't the biggest priority. If I can manage to end up w/one of the new whiteface Odyssey's tho...hageir wrote:(savingSSquirrel wrote:The Prophet looks amazing tho. The world keeps on turning, before you know it some smuck will be selling his P6 2nd hand hehe
Yeah, I think I'd go with the white one, not many white synths in the world..
It's a kick-a*s synth, the Odyssey, lots of good synthesis options on it!
Damn, what to sell + put in the piggy-bank for the P6??

Just gather the family together and explain to them that there will be no food on the table for the next few months, cos daddy is getting a new synthesizer. They'll understand. They can always ask friends.

Re: Prophet 6
I was thinking this might totally obsolete the Prophet 08 until I noticed..only two EGs, one LFO, sequencer sounds like notes only and PolyMod is not as flexible as four free mod slots. So the two are very, very different in terms of modulation options.
Man this NAMM show is totally mind blowing, what's next?

I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Re: Prophet 6
But don't spend too long, internal temperatures are kept intentionally high to discourage vagrants from "moving in" while your Cs-90 is unattended.Sir Ruff wrote:"Don't like a preset? This looks like a psychotropic reaction. No wonder it's so popular...

Re: Prophet 6
But seriously, it's very hard to resist this Prophet 6. I don't think I've actually GAS'd for any new equipment in quite a long time, but this is tempting! Fingers crossed they don't do some kind of a limited release!

Yes, very different specs, so I'm sure there will be plenty of people who still prefer the '08.meatballfulton wrote:I was thinking this might totally obsolete the Prophet 08 until I noticed..only two EGs, one LFO, sequencer sounds like notes only and PolyMod is not as flexible as four free mod slots. I'm a "no menu diving" kind of guy, so I'll take the limited features of the Prophet 6 any day just because of that interface. The poly mod section can get some crazy stuff going on despite being relatively simple. It's enough mod for me on a poly.

Re: Prophet 6
I like the P-6, too, because it is slightly more limited. I own the P-08 module, and there is a LOT to learn. The P-6 looks to be a little more user-friendly. If you're like me and you don't need 6,000 modulation options, the P-6 might be the way to go.soundxplorer wrote:Yes, very different specs, so I'm sure there will be plenty of people who still prefer the '08.meatballfulton wrote:I was thinking this might totally obsolete the Prophet 08 until I noticed..only two EGs, one LFO, sequencer sounds like notes only and PolyMod is not as flexible as four free mod slots. Re: Prophet 6
Not sure why 30 or 40 guys are flipping out over a synth that maybe 3 or 4 of you will actually buy.
