Poly 800 in TCM track

Post by KBD_TRACKER » Sun Jan 25, 2015 1:11 pm

Some reverb and a drum machine somewhere, but TCM did coax some nice sounds out of the Poly 800 ...

When I see "TCM" in context of music and/or synths, I immediately think of The Crystal Method.

Exactly. Shame it wasn't really.

I've been looking at Poly 800 stuff (and Poly 61) recently. It seems like a synth I may like playing. It's like this (relatively) cheap, unappreciated little underdog that seems like it can do some cool stuff. I mean, while it may be lacking some features of my Alpha Juno 2, I believe it uses 2 DCOs/voice instead of the Juno's 1. (I think Poly 800 came out sooner, too). I know this isn't entirely related, but if you have one, what do you think of it, KBD_TRACKER? (and others?)

I probably won't get one, just been kinda curious
