She'll take you to outer space and back...

Not completely a synth...but very stylish.

I never understood that modded tilted A6. How are you supposed to rock the ribbon that way?

Re: What is the sexiest looking synth of all time?
Using the ribbon requires that I move one hand from the keyboard, there's really no difference in use. I have a Kurzweil expressionist that I mounted on the ledge in front of the keys on the midi board. This allows me to hold keys and glide a thumb,Palm or pinky on the ribbon. On the Cs80 it was actually further away from the keys than on the Andy..... YMMV as to which way is best for you .

Always liked the looks of the NED Sync II. One single large knob and individual lighted buttons to access every function. This is what the future looked like in the early 80's.

I always thought the Fairlight was more futuristic looking!CZ Rider wrote:Always liked the looks of the NED Sync II. One single large knob and individual lighted buttons to access every function. This is what the future looked like in the early 80's.
The Fairlight's lightpen and video moitor was way more futuristic than rows of red buttons that NED had sourced from B-52 bombers that were made in the 60s... And the LED display was right out of my TI-58 calculator from 1978.
That said, those buttons are probably the nicest buttons you'll find on any synth! And the "alpha" wheel on the NED way predates Roland's use of it.

I also just thought that it would look amazing to gut out a Synclavier and install one row of Eurorack where that panel is
Looks like it might just fit
