Korg SQ-10 vs. SQ-1
There's an opportunity to grab a Korg SQ-10 for cheap (Korg M1 w/case & orchestral cards plus $350 CND)
It seems by Korg just released the SQ-1 which is 16 step vs. 12 and it has MIDI and USB to sync the clock.
Also, the SQ-1 is smaller and cheaper. What's the benefit of buying the older model?

Re: Korg SQ-10 vs. SQ-1
Inquiring minds want to know:
What CV gear do you own?
Is synching to MIDI clock important to you?
Are you comfortable with those plastic Volca style controls (not really knobs) ?
Do you have room for the SQ-10, the thing is pretty big...

I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Re: Korg SQ-10 vs. SQ-1
At the moment, I don't own any CV gear. I think MIDI clock would be important. The Volca knobs are alright, kinda small, but they suffice. Room isn't a big problem as I have the ikea j**k
However, the m1 is massive and heavy in it's case. I can't move it by car, so this deal is delayed at the least.

$99 SQ-1 vs. $1500 SQ-10
$1500 ÷ $99 = 15 SQ-1 SEQUENCERS

Re: Korg SQ-10 vs. SQ-1
why is this a question? and you keep talking about the m1.
its not 350 for a sequencer, its 1500. unless the dude is bundling it all and giving you a h**l of a discount, 120cad vs 1500, when the cheaper option has more to it and is battery powered seems pretty obvious.
edit: totally just clued in.
don't do it. giving up a sound source & 350?
dude is just in denial that his vintage gear has been usurped.

Re: Korg SQ-10 vs. SQ-1
Yeah, it seems the SQ1 is the logical choice. I'm sill going to sell M1 to fund the MKS 70 soon. Thanks for the advice

Re: Korg SQ-10 vs. SQ-1
Is the sq-1 in stores yet, or still just available as a preorder online?
This looks like a psychotropic reaction. No wonder it's so popular...
Re: Korg SQ-10 vs. SQ-1
They were in stock here about 2 weeks ago but sold out quickly.

The manual explains how to change the resolution in the "Global parameter settings" box.

Re: Korg SQ-10 vs. SQ-1
There's a US vender (themidistore) on eBay with some in stock and is selling them for $109.99. That's ten dollars more than store price, but there's also free shipping to make up for that. Only three left at the moment... now that I've ordered mine.
