Sam ash will ship one to you with an estimated date of about ten days from now for free as well ($99 for the sq-1), but I'd rather just go there and buy it. Guitar center seems like it's still in the preorder phase with sq-1s not available until march, so who knows what they're doing....

Sam Ash is still in pre-order mode too. That estimated date refers to when they might have some in stock, not when you'll actually receive it if you ordered it.

I would check the indie shops that specialize in synths; for example, I picked mine up today from Control Voltage here in Portland Oregon. They got 10 units in (now 9 left after my purchase.)

The guy at Sam ash told me they had orders that were filled on Feb first, the sq-1 was in the computer system, that they had some at a few stores but none of them were near by, and 9f course that they did not have any in stock but that he could order one. I told him to hold off. Can this thing be synced to a midi clock, or is it only tape?

It has MIDI Out, but not MIDI In. There's a possibility that it's on the circuit board though since the Volcas and Monotribe had it there for modding. If not, the Korg Volcas work as MIDI clock sync convertors right out of the box: MIDI Out > Volca MIDI In > Volca Sync Out > SQ-1 Sync In

Speaking of Control Voltage in PDX... I live pretty close to that and should have just called them today.
I checked their website this morning and it appears they updated it right after I ordered it off eBay, d'oh!

Here's a quick video I just did of the Korg SQ-1 sequencing the Korg MS-20 mini using both CV outs to sequence the two VCOs of the MS-20; with CV-A (VCO 1) as the Bass and CV-B (VCO 2) as the Lead. This SQ-1 is pretty fun!
