NoisySix : Pink/White Noise + 6waveshape LFO for the Polysix

Post by gibsonripper » Tue Mar 10, 2015 1:22 pm

Hey Polysix owners,

I now have the NoisySix available for the Polysix synth.
It is an all analog upgrade to the P6 that provides:
Pink / White Noise
6-waveshape LFO (taps into and replaces the original "MG" LFO)

I'm looking for one owner in the Boston / New England area that wants the upgrade to their Polysix at no labor cost! Just the cost of the upgrade kit.
EDIT: I have found someone for this initial one-time free installation of the upgrade! -thanks everyone

Cheers!

That looks very nice! I've often missed a noise gen on my Polysix. Keep us updated :thumbleft:

How much is the kit?

Can I ship you my KiwiSix or does it only work with a stock PolySix?

Hi Z (no pun intended!),

This kit is $250. At this time, it is not compatible with the Kiwisix. The NoisySix depends on the original analog circuitry. Unfortunately the consolidation of the CVs on the original KLM-367A board were the location of the "MG" (LFO) circuit. It was a simple one op-amp TRIANGLE wave oscillator. The NoiySix provides 6-waveshapes, including S&H. Since my design is 100% analog, it won't work with the Kiwisix. However, Murray at Kiwi and I have corresponded a few times and there is always possibility that the NoisySix could be compatible. However, this may not be for quite some time and there is no guarantee that it will happen.

Absolutely not. This was one thing that I missed soon after selling my Juno 106 to purchase a Polysix. A few months later, I decided to add Pink/White noise. Then a few months after that, I decided that the stock triangle-wave only MG was very limiting. Also, my NoisySix has a wide range of LFO frequency. It can be run from about 0.005Hz up to around 150Hz. Nominally, I ship them calibrated to about a range of: 0.005Hz to 100Hz +/-10%.
