I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Uugg . Guess I'm going to have to start saving lol . Seriously I'm at full G.A.S. Infection ! Bravo Roland ....who'd of thought .

Edit : well ok pending full specs , but if it's 8 part : 4 digital with drums like the jdxi and 4 analog and they can both blend , like the video implied ( were he talked about running the digi through the ani filters ) not to mention IMHO the sleekist physical design I've seen in a long time then sold .
Some wish to leave their mark ... I want to leave a scar .

Woah.. can't believe I'm saying this but this is waaay better than I expected, I'm still not super keen on all the red LED's but man those sounds are reminding me of some great Roland's of past, definitely a pad monster I can tell that already.

This feels like their first pro synth in a long time, as good as the V-Synth? Got me wondering now. :)

Roland says 'I got something cool to show ya' haha

It sounds massive, but I dislike the shiny/gloss front panel.

Yeah, I kept waiting for that voice clip to showcase some of the vocoder effects, but it just kept repeating the same thing over and over. Total cheese . Gotta say I love how this thing sounds though. My only grip with how it looks are those weird red indentations on the side panels. They look like robotic lady parts or the mouths of some kind of Muppet if you were to add googly eyes. They should have went with solid black Juno-106 style end panels instead.

That's 4.5x the price of the JD-Xi so why is it only 64 Supernatural voices and not 128?

Sounds like they dropped the PCMs and drums as well.

The 8 internal/8 external track sequencer is a surprise.

I hate to add visuals to my previous post, but this is what literally keeps popping up in my head anytime I see this new Roland synth...

Hmmm, I'm not impressed at all. If it would sound amazing I'd maybe get pass it's visual side, but the sound doesn't do anything for me. Sure it has great pad potential and I liked how the pads sounded, but with such limited polyphony...no way. Plus, I'd save a bit more and get the Prophet 6 or let's see the price of the new Synthex.
And really, Roland should work a bit on their designs as most of their stuff is really ugly and un-inspiring.

Black and red used to be popular with the goths in the 90s

I used to *love* Roland's instrument designs of the past, right up to about, say the JD800/JV-80/XV-5080 era, and then from that point, I've really disliked Roland's designs, from the MC's and Gaia's through V-Synths and Aira's etc - they all look cheap, gimmicky and toy-like, rather than sexy, rugged, professional and stylish musical tools and instruments like they used to be.

The JD-XA has things about it I quite like, and the form factor is nice, but all the red is not that nice and it still looks a bit cheap and toy-like, especially from the back, considering the price of the instrument. And I'd find four analog voices limiting, but at least Roland, lately, seem to be moving in the right direction, even if they're not there yet.
