I'm highly intrigued by the idea but don't know enough to have a very informed opinion. What do you all think?

I made one at the old job I worked at, it's pretty cool looking but not actually very expressive to play. It's more of a research paper than an instrument.

It's a solution in search of a problem, like most gestural control devices.

It's up to the user/player to map the gestures as he/she sees fit. So unless you have some ideas that simply cannot be performed with a keyboard, pads, wheels, ribbons or expression pedals, what good is it?
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

It just seems like a gimmick to me. I'm sure it comes down to whether or not the person clicks with it, but I just can't see any advantages to this over other formats. It seems like a VST with a big, goofy controller required, which kind of defeats the point of VSTs, IMO.
