Just wondering if anyone can tell me if these brassy chords are typical of an SCI Prophet 5 or could it be something else?
(Paul Hardcastle "Forest Fire" (1985) --starting at 1m 41s)
I know Paul Hardcastle used the Prophet 5 a lot back in the days, but also had Roland synths (Jupiter 8 I believe, among others). I can obviously hear a TR-808 for the drums and I'm guessing a Prophet 5 or Minimoog for bass, a Prophet 5 for the lead, an Emulator II for the voice and possibly a DX-7 in there as well for marimba type sounds.
Is this a Prophet 5 or a Roland synth? (Paul Hardcastle)

Whatever it is, it will be overpriced anyway these days.

My guess would be the JP8 for those chordal things.
The JP8 really was PH's favourite synth back then and he got a *lot* of mileage out of it in those days.

I have no idea what synth was used for the brass sound, but this is a slick song! Gonna go listen to some Hardcastle now. Thanks!
Comparison is the thief of joy.

The brass in my opinion sounds like some kind of Roland synth. Jupiter most likely. And I know that synth is a Prophet 5 for the oscillator sync lead (I think it is a modified Sync II patch).
