Pretty much any subtractive synth.

What synthesiser would be good though ?
I have been looking at a Juno or korgmicro, moog sub phatty, Roland Gaia, Ms-20, dx7 and a Jp-08
I just don't know which one to get that would come close.
Thanks :D

This thread should be in buyers guide, and your asking a very vague question. That being said the dx7 is not really something you'd want for analog bass sounds, and is a very complex hard to program synth. I'm pretty ignorant about trance, but the Roland Gaia might not be bad synth to start out with since it features a supersaw waveform in the oscillator section and has simple slider/knob laden interface. Keep in mind that the moog sub phatty and ms20 are monophonic (only capable of playing one note at a time), while the jp-08, microkorg, and gaia are polyphonic, which may not mater If your only looking to program bass lines and leads.
We'll always be remembered, we'll always be dismembered.

Well not my kind of music, but forget the DX-7. It can not do filter sweeps. It can make a damn good bass.

Maybe a Korg volca keys. It can do bass and a very good one. It is cheap compared to the ones you listed. It can record when you turn the knobs in realtime. So it can do filter sweeps with Lfo or with sequencer.

You can have the vco in the same range or two in the same and one above. The vcf is 12 db/Oct and can self oscillate.
Also it is paraphonic 3 voices but one filter.

You can probably buy one on eBay and sell without losing money if it wasn't right for you.

Just my input

Btw the Yamaha CS1x or CS2x can do some serious bass sounds.

Cheers
Jens
