It's time for another Analog Bass Synth
There really aren't enough on the market, you know?
Dreadbox Hades Analog Bass Synth Available For Pre-Order
Sarcasm aside, it sounds quite nice actually. Nice price point as well.

I actually found a TR-606 at a thrift store for $20 not too long ago. It was just sitting in a bin with a bunch of TV remote controls and modems

Alot of cool semi-modular analog these days, with mini jacks. Seems like everybody/s making something, and all of it can work together. I like it, but can't possibly own all of them. It is a good time to be into analog though.

Yeah we're seeing a similar thing as in the 70's. Everyone is making stuff now. And contrary to back then, everything can work together. In the 70's and 80's you were stuck with half a dozen different CV standards. Until everything became MIDIfied.

Speaking of new little bass synths, this caught my eye recently...

Re: It's time for another Analog Bass Synth
While not strictly a bass synth, and not true analog (though for the life of me I'd never know it by hearing it), I have been getting absolutely stunning bass synth sounds from my Roland SYSTEM-1.
My role in my band is 90% comprised of concocting rich, full bass sounds - and the SYSTEM-1 is more and more becoming my go-to instrument for earth-shaking basses that sound unlike any other instrument I've got. And the portability is just aces. Of all Roland's recent products, the SYSTEM-1 has been one of the most exciting and surprising.
...IF you can get past the doofy 2-octave keyboard.
I'm not that particular, though. And they do make a modular model, if I remember correctly.
Soundwise, it's the most powerful bass-making sound machine in my current setup.

Re: It's time for another Analog Bass Synth
So, there's this forthcoming MB33 and the Dreadbox Hades.
There's also the
Volca Bass
MeeBlip Anode
TT-303 (serious 303 clone)
Minitaur
You could also maybe count the TB-3, even though it's digital.
Also perhaps the Bass Station 2, which has transformed into a fuller-featured monosynth.
Am I missing more low-priced analog bass synths? Oh...hahah....I suppose there's the Rhythm Wolf (or should I say Cub?)....

They brought back the MB33? Thomann price is only $150.

I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

I'd add the Rare Waves Grendel Grenadier too.Walter Ego wrote:So, there's this forthcoming MB33 and the Dreadbox Hades.
