Mellotron In A Pedal ...

Post by Blue Monster 65 » Wed Mar 16, 2016 1:02 pm

New EHX pedal, the M9. Here's the blurb on Sonic State: http://www.sonicstate.com/news/2016/03/ ... -stompbox/ They show it on guitar, but I'm sure keys would work as well.
Muhahahahahahahahaha!

I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

It sounds even worse than the original.

If they really wanted it to be original, it'd have a built-in speaker that you have to mic up.
Switches, knobs, buttons, LEDs, LCD screens, monitors, keys, mice, jacks, sockets. Now two joysticks!

Not if it's an M-400.

I love Mellotrons but this is a bit of a slap in the face. But then again, I'm no guitar slinger....

Their next pedal will have Digital Native Dance and the M1 Piano.

Because it sounds even shittier than a bad sample of a bad Mellotron -- and is so utterly pointless with the Memotron and Resch Mellotron around.

But then again, I'm no... well, you guessed it.

Not that pointless considering the price.

And who does know that well a Mellotron sound? A fraction of music enthousiats, so the results might be nice enough for the vast majority of listeners AND players.

For G0d's sake, it's a pedal! Of course it won't be the same...
Considering parting away from:
-Roland TR707
-DSI Mopho

+1

And its mainly made for guitar players 8-) . Consider it a nice addition to the stompbox collection, but not something to replace a real mellotron with. I think it is a nice idea. Might add nicely to the EHX Micro Synth, which I have in my guitar setup - extremely cool and fun to have, but definitely not a replacement for what we generally consider a "synth" here ;).
Don't forget to TURN ON THE SYNTHESIZER. Often this is the reason why you get no sound out of it. - ARP 2600 manual, 1971
