I have a real attachment to the expressivity of these instruments.

I have used them for emulative work in mock-orchestral music & also use them for sounds that don't exist in the real world. Even for analog emulations once in a while. One VL-1 is solely dedicated to my live setup & one to my studio setup. The third is really a backup that I found for cheap.

The 3 vl1-ms are setup with a Mondovox as a six voice polyphonic. This is a rather recent setup and I haven't yet used it for much work. But, it is pretty amazing to play.

Elektron Analog Four (x3)
Elektron Monomachine (x3)
Elektron Octatrack (x3)
Korg MS-2000 (x3)
Native Instruments Maschine Mk2 (x3)
Teenage Engineering OP-1 (x3)
Waldorf Blofeld (x4)

The list of stuff I have owned twice is currently 22 strong. I guess it's a consequence of always wanting to try new stuff and not being able to afford everything all at once. I'm actually contemplating buying a 3rd Analog Rytm right now as well.

A little Yamaha TG-33... ..on the third time round I'm keeping it!!

Maybe its the vector thing but I actually prefer it to my SY-77 which has never really won me over despite it being vastly more complex/capable on paper (absolutely superb key action though).

The exact opposite happened with a Roland D-110... sold one.. bought another.. never ever again!!

Life is far too short for trying to decipher the User Interface from h**l

Ah, the poor old D-110. It should be renamed "the not, in any way, D-550" :)

Only the Korg electribes.

I also think I have brought the SAME unit I sold to the store, back.
I keep buying the Green (fake samper) and Blue (synth).
Yet, I've never owned the orange/tan one or the black production one.
