ARP Pro Soloist restoration video

Post by synthchaser » Thu Aug 25, 2016 8:34 am

I just restored a pair of ARP Pro Soloists and made some videos along the way... In case you want to see what's under the hood in an old school classic....

nicely done! quick question: i have a pro-soloist, and some of the presets don't work(about 1/3?). it's never been a huge issue, the synth is still playable, but on this subject, i might as well ask: in your digging into the schematics, did you find anything that might be a likely culprit for this issue? thanks, rj

A good way to figure out dead or wrong sounding presets is to look at which of the presets don't work and then figure out what they share in common (e.g. all the voices that use resonator bank 2 are dead then likely the op amp for that resonator is bad).

If you let me know which voices are out I can help figure out what they have in common that might be broken.

I have another video too where I do some troubleshooting of voice issues:
