Any synth with a multitimbral arp section?
Hi!!
I want 5 different ARPs to play simultaneously in one tempo, with 5 different sounds(for example)/ Is there any synth that could make such a trick?

Anything from E-mu's p2K range will do.

Please don't capitalize the abbreviation to arpeggiator like that.
But to answer your question, I'm pretty sure the Roland Fantom X series can do that.

Novation's KS series does 4 simultaneously very easily (including separate effects per part).
Re: Any synth with a multitimbral ARP section?
Thanx, can I use different patterns simultaneously? And can they be transmitted via the midi to some external devices?vicd wrote:Anything from E-mu's p2K range will do.

No, I don't think so. In Performance mode, you can specify which one of the 16 Parts is affected by the single arpeggio pattern running but that's it.Z wrote:I'm pretty sure the Roland Fantom X series can do that.

Yes and yes. See e.g. p.28 of the MP7 manual for an example of a multichannel arp.philip wrote:Thanx, can I use different patterns simultaneously? And can they be transmitted via the midi to some external devices?vicd wrote:Anything from E-mu's p2K range will do.

Arp/riff MIDI output is switchable since firmware update 2.0 - options are: don’t transmit, transmit arps, transmit riff, or transmit both.

i'm pretty sure a Casio with Hex-layers such as the XW-P1 or PX-5S could do six arpeggios at one time with different sounds.

You should be able to use the arpeggiator on all 16 voices of the virus TI
This looks like a psychotropic reaction. No wonder it's so popular...

Yamaha Motif XS and XF can run 4 arpeggiators at once when in Performance mode. Only one of the four can send over MIDI, the other three cannot since they share the same MIDI channel. Each arpeggiator can select between up to 5 patterns in real time. A quick record mode allows recording from Performance mode directly into a sequence.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Re: Any synth with a multitimbral arp section?
I was just reading the new Montage can do 8 simultaneous Arps and are assignable to parts + + and + pg 24 in manual. It is an arpiggating beast. I want one pretty bad, but still new and too pricey for me.

Re: Any synth with a multitimbral arp section?
The V-Synth might be able to do it; I'll have to try it. But that knowledge isn't very useful since the V-Synth in general doesn't do multitimbrality very well.
Switches, knobs, buttons, LEDs, LCD screens, monitors, keys, mice, jacks, sockets. Now two joysticks!
Re: Any synth with a multitimbral arp section?
The Virus kb/b can have arpeggiators running on all 16 parts simultaneously. And every model after that can do it too.
Re: Any synth with a multitimbral arp section?
For posterity...The PX-5S can play four different arpeggios, each playing a different tone if desired. The XW-P1 can play only one arpeggio at a time (with up to four layered tones).V301H wrote:i'm pretty sure a Casio with Hex-layers such as the XW-P1 or PX-5S could do six arpeggios at one time with different sounds.
