Korg Tease

Post by Walter Ego » Tue Oct 25, 2016 6:00 pm

So...Korg is teasing something for the first of the month. Predictions?

Image

I want a Mega-Volca. But I'm preparing myself for disappointment. Might just be a new special edition arranger keyboard. Not sure what to make of the stripes.

Edit...this is my 808th post. A portent? We'll see.

The social media comments are all over the place.
For them to tease, says that it must be flagship or close to that level.
You don't tease anything that's part of an established lineage.....Or has a small price point.

If it was a teaser of that sort...It'd be like "There's a new Volca coming.....find out on...."
Someone said KARP or KORG ARP 2600 was coming as their guess.
I like that. Maybe some other remake....
But a flagship synth would probably get a more grandiose tease so....maybe not.....

But a bigger version of something else, I doubt it.

Oh Damnnnniittttt I don't know!!!!!

They revealed new Volca few weeks ago, so it's probably something different.

microKorg with racing stripes?
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

KARP2600 seems like a logical move. Or a mini version...would still be too expensive for me anyway.

I read someone mentioned the colors match the Polysix. As cool as that would be, a new Monopoly would be much better. I'd take a Monopoly or Arp2600, please.

Yeah Mono/Poly or 2600 would be a great next move by Korg, fingers crossed. ;)

It says : NEW MUSiC ALWAYS.
It would be ironic if it is another vintage reproduction.
It is all about sharing...

Didn't notice that as their new motto.
I guess they supply the sound and we're supposed to make the new music.
New music with old, trusty sounds. Where's Marc when you need him?

It's almost a bad marketing idea since they can go in so many directions.
Workstation?
Analog Synth?
Groovebox?
Sampler?
Flagship for any previous line?

Ultra-monotron?
Ultra-Volca?
Ultra-electribe?
Ultra-Koass-having-thingie?

Me gut also says ARP 2600 remake.
Doesn't someone usually breakout they most recent registered names list....

The pattern looks like tolex. Would be nice if it was a KARP 2600 (it's got to be in the works surely?) but don't forget Korg make a whole lot of things apart from synths. Could be an amp using their Nutube.

Edit: The colours do match the Polysix though (mostly). I'm intrigued.

If that red stripe was orange it would match the Mono/Poly, anyone know if there were different versions with a red fx switch cap?

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the Nutube, surely about time they put it in something, it was a fair while ago that they told us about it. Or it may never happen... I hope it does though, seemed really promising.
