Welcome to a new part of the forum!

Following on from Vintagesynth's announcement, the 'Sound Production', in a nutshell is for discussion on what happens after the sound has left your synths.

It covers effects, mixing, mixers, outboard equipment, monitors, recording techniques, programs such as Cubase, Ableton etc. and anything related to getting your sounds from the synth and to the ears of your audience.

This should free up 'General Synths' from topics that aren't strictly synth-related, but are too useful to languish in Off Topic.

I'd just like to thank Vintagesynth for his implementation of this new forum!

That said, have fun, and hope it proves a useful resource!

This is great! Now if we could just dedicate a portion of these forums to steak sandwiches and buttah. :D

I know Gen was getting full of this type of stuff but I honestly don't see the need for a separate index. Do we really discuss it to that extent? I would much rather have somewhere for all the "what synth did this....?" and the "How do I get this sound?" questions that cause far more congestion. Just a thought.

We're looking to keep General Synths for the discussion of synths only. With there being just as much that goes on after playing the synth, we felt it merited its own little kennel on here.

Of course, we'll probably get 'MXR Phase 90 vs EHX Small Stone' threads in here!

Nice work guys - hopefully this'll help balance out the forum's activity so that General isn't the only place that most people will visit and therefore post.

Great idea!

I often thought an mp3 cubby (links/ or files) for peoples often great little snippets and songs of particular synths would be awesome.
They get posted on threads but not archived- a shame.

Wow, I leave for a few days and when I come back there is new forums and cute little flags. I'm glad the sound production forum got started up so soon. This should be a good forum. I'm glad we also still have a seperate help section. Cheers, Vintagesynth.
