Delta 1010 is a fine card but you'd really want a seperate mic preamp in between the mic and the delta, imo. M-audio used to sell a companion 2-channel preamp to the delta series, you might want to look into that. It was aimed at the lower end but that means it's cheap!
You won't need two soundcards if you get something like the 1010, it'll let you play and record at the same time. It might be funky getting the latency right, though.

Simplest solution would be to buy a DX100 and pray to Roger Troutman.
