Overdrive fx for Voyager

Post by Electroboy » Thu Nov 15, 2007 4:13 am

Beyond the obvious method to create an overdrive effect by feeding the ext input with the right channel output, could anyone recomend a juicy overdrive fx to run the Voyager thru? I need something that wont kill the tone, squash the volume, or drop the bass frequencies. Was thinking of the Boss ODB-3. I still want to retain that low end rumble when possible. Your suggestions are much appriciated. In addition, Im selling my DSI MEK. 3 months old and studio kept.

I was in the market for a MEK until a week ago, ah well.

I'd definitely recommend the Crowther Hot Cake, it's the best distortion out there as far as retaining tone goes IMO. Super warm with as much low end as you want. It's kind of expensive but totally worth it.

I just bought a used ODB-3 to use with my Rogue and FR Revo and its not that special imo,
the only way I can use it is by turning the balance knob all the way to dry then turn up the gain, otherwise it just emits a crazy amount of noise.

I would recommend something better.
