hey has anyone played around with the zoom rt-223?
harmony central doesnt have any reviews posted for it..
the manual says it has a lo-fi setting and and an 8 bit setting in the EQ.
most of the reviews of other zoom drum machines seem to say they sound better than boss drum machines.
any opinions appreciated. 8)

I had good result with my RT-123 and I would say that it's a good rock oriented drum machine. The sounds are punchy and satisfying. I was actually looking for the 323 which imho the best of the bunch, but got the 123 for very cheap..so, stick with that for a while and happy about it. I won't say that it's a better drum machine than Boss, some of the pricier model are clearly a winner. But within the price range, the RT got the character that I like. The 223 might be good from rock and hip-hop, but for more modern genre, you might want to look at something else with some better realtime control.

I bought a 323 a while ago for only £50 from an Edinburgh pawn shop.
It was much better than I was expecting-loads of sounds and also the bass sounds can be OK with a bit of tweaking. Its a nifty thing to use and looks great too,I highly recommend it if you can find one cheap.
