I use Beyerdynamic DT 231 Galactic, silly-looking blue ones.

By no means professional, but gives me a pretty good impression on how my mixes would sound on a more typical consumer-grade setup. I find mixing with studio monitors together with mid-grade headphones to be the optimal solution for me at the moment. However, headphones are essential when you are working with vintage effect boxes - you're going to hear the amount of hiss and other interference noises accurately only on headphones. In my case, there'a a lot.

I've used stupidly expensive headphones at work as well, but they're not going to help you getting mixes right either.

Sony MDR-CD180 - they were very cheap at less than $20. I bought them about 7-8 years ago and they are still working just like the day I bought them. I've used them for casual listening, DJing, and in the studio. However, the time is coming for a serious upgrade.
