I stumbled upon this ancient thing at the tip-shop today. I looked pretty much like this but with a removable lid on top. Apparently it works...



I figure it's a pre-amp of some kind. Though the inputs on the back looked like at least 6-pin din type. Just wondering if it would be worth the $80 they're asking? Or if anyone has any info on these things?

Yeah, it looks a lot like an old Masco PA that was used in a grocery store/school/gym/etc. I have a friend that makes these into the most amazing sounding amplifiers I've ever heard.

I would try to talk them down a little, of course, but I'm an old fashioned wheeler dealer.

Ha, I actually saw that in there a while ago and it also got my attention

Though the lack of any normal connections and the dangerous looking electronics turned me off - would be too much of a fixxerupper project to make it worth it for me.
