Recording synths line out?

Recording synths line out?

Sorry, if this is a daft question but I usually only record with mics. Should I use the Master Volume as the wanted output on my synth and keep audio interface input off? I noticed added input on my Mbox 2 Mini brings in some unwanted sounds.

Yes, that is generally how you want to gain stage -- have max gain as close to the source as possible and then use downstream elements to attenuate/boost as necessary.
