Sound treatment referrals ???

Post by sol-bass-rec » Sun Jun 01, 2014 4:08 am

So I'm looking for an Online US vendor that sells rockwool, Owens corning 703 and related finished bass trap panels.

What I'm really looking for is low or no SHIPPING FEES.

I had a $400 order ready to go at accoustimac.com the shipping from Tampa to Charlotte was/is $180.00

Bass traps are something I can build on my own so just finding the 2" and 4" sound panels are 1st. I meet to get my walls hung.

Thanks ahead of time!

B.O.

I used foam by mail (foam factory). Thier prices were better than anyone else I could find.

I was going to use rock wool because someone online had recommended it, but the foam was enough for my purpose so i didn't.

This is the picture I used as reference :

If you are in the north half of the country you should be able to find rockwool at a nearby hardware store. If not they should be able to ship it to your local store. The site I used said R9 was adequate, but I cant seem to find that URL.

Thanks,

While I'm still in the process of framing I may frame out the corners and just build in (out) the corners.

Doing this I may save some money because I could frame 12" and use 12" Base Traps.

I'm waiting for the 1/8" Sound proof vinyl to arrive, so not much more I can do.

I will check out foam by mail. Think I just purchased some remnant 4" foam from them on ebay.

Well good luck, and please post some photos when finished. I've been wondering about the validity of using a sofa or loveseat as a bass trap, do you know anything about that?

If you're just going to build them on your own, there's gotta be a local insulation supplier in Charlotte you can get the panels from, isn't there?

I Google a couple times accoustical wholesale, didn't bring anything up.

Going to try again tomorrow. Being a PM for a construction company keeps me going nonstop. There isn't enough time in the day.

I've been in this spot 5 weeks now. It's been inching along. From Monday to Sunday last week, nothing was done until I laid some sheetrock.

Okay the first 3 hours were spent plugging in and having a good time, but the outside of the control room has sheetrock!
