Any Hardware Recorders with Side Chain?

Post by Zamise » Tue Jun 17, 2014 8:37 pm

The cheaper the better I suppose. Looking at a cheap used Roland VS-880 today and wondered how nice that would be to have that built in to it instead of having to wire up an external hardware compressor with it.

Thanks!

Maybe not a sidechain, but I have the Gemini SD Card recorder. It's essentialy a cd burner without the cd burner. You can record onto an SD or USB device such as an external Hard Drive.

Probably not the answer you were looking for but for $150.00 it will be our go to for mobile live or mobile dj gigs.

Nope sorry but thanks. Multi-track digital studio type recorder with side-chain.

Wow nice! The Yamaha aw4416 is looking like the one I might go for, stats and everything look really good, more than what I'd expect for the used prices, and yeah will be nice with the old RS7000 ;) Thanks!

I read it does ducking in the dynamic EQ area, have you used that part of it and how well does work? Do you know if it can do it on already recorded tracks or is it something that can just be done on the inputs while recording? Not that it is a deal breaker, inputs will due and that it even has it is better than all rest I've been looking around at on these things.
