Freeware Multitrack Recorders

Postby Nakatsu_Hime » Sun Mar 06, 2016 4:28 pm

Any recommendations for the following would be welcome:

I am looking for a utility (preferably freeware) that I can record multiple seperate audio onto, and then enables me to mixdown, change relative volume, etc.
I basically am looking for something like Audacity, but with the ability to generate a MIDI-clock pulse to drive my hardware sqencer and drum machines to drive my synths.
This I would like to do with multiple runs (hense the MIDI clock requirement), routing the audio back to the utility (as audio, not event data), which I can then rebalance before saving out as mp3 file.

I have tried using MuLab. Trust me, I've tried very hard, but it's not the most user-friendly out there and the more I try with it, the more I get to detest it.

Yeah - Reaper up to v0.99 is pure freeware, and later versions have unlimited trial period.
