Roland MC-303 vs Korg Electribe ?

Looking to buy a groovebox and can't decide between these two. any thoughts would be very much appreciated!

MC-303 sounds ok, the interface was like pulling teeth. if you look at one make sure the function button works well, they wear out because you have to hold it down while pressing other buttons to do 90% of the editing functions.... (many of which require holding "function" and "shift"

cool thanks for the heads up. what do you think of the electribe em? i was looking at a microkorg but it seems like you can do alot more with these grooveboxes. what's your opinion?

electribe em-1 would be a great start! check out some of ghostradioshow's EM-1 videos on youtube.

The EM-1 has the drum machine of the ER-1 plus the VA of the EA-1- which is in itself a more limited version of the one from the MicroKorg. The EM-1 would do well, but so would a MicroKorg hooked to an ER-1.

Ghostradioshow is a beast on the EM-1. Have you thought about getting an EMX?

huh, well, i always thought the synth parts on the EM where VA... it just went further down on my list...

The Best Buy near me has EMX-1s on "clearance" for $350

its close enough - its like having a digital synth with no oscillator controls, but instead a whole bunch of preset oscillator settings - as well as basic waveforms, also things like piano etc.
