MFB Tanzbar vs. Roland TR-8

Postby Zmeinogorsk » Sat Feb 28, 2015 9:14 pm

I bought a Tanzbar about a year ago, while I really love its lo-fi grit, the build quality is iffy and figuring out some of the functions can be a chore.

The consensus on the TR-8 is that is sounds pretty good, and honestly it's a lot cheaper, so if I sold the Tanzbar I could free up some much needed cash.

Can any Tanzbar/TR-8 owners chime in on this issue? If I were to sell the Tanzbar would I seriously miss its analog grit and vibe (which it has tons of) in favour of a digital replacement?

I think it's easy to add grit and imperfection. Run the TR through some external devices and I am sure it will come to life.

It's pretty easy to answer that question yourself: Do you want barely editable 808/909 clone sounds and a simple interface, or a more complex and editable analog drum machine? Unless you are determined to have the 808/909 sounds, I would stick with the Tanzbar. Much more interesting machine.
Do you even post on vse bro?
