Korg MS-20 vs. Maxikorg 800DV: Like others noted, you'd be getting the long end of the stick as the Maxi-Korg is probably worth more, and definitely more rare. Personally, I love the MS-20, and if I could only have one of them, it'd be the MS-20. Luckily, I don't have to choose, and I have both. ;) The Maxi is an odd beast, and definitely takes some getting used to, but can yield unique results.

Maxikorg 800DV vs. 700s: Another difference between these two, is the fact that the 700s has 3 different Ringmodulation options, compared to the 800DV's one. Also, the 700s, has always sounded better to me, but that's just one man's ears....

Wonder where the info came from??
Two osc's, two sawsubosc's two forms if ringmod, two times hpf+lpf, 2 voices parellel , serial , with seperate repeat, 2 separate vibrato, two seperate glide etc.
and they do have 2 ext in's , on the back , it's by the vcf-din input of the upper and lower voicestange, even stereoprocessing...
Sorry I did not explain myself clear enough, I was talking about the 800DV having much less modulation possibilities than the MS20.
lol , the info about the IC's is just stories I have read over the internet, no personal experience here, hence the question marks... :)
I though that the filter DINs were for pedal CV control, I did not know that these were external inputs, thanks for noting this.

I am very curious to hear this tone that everybody is talking about. I am going to check it out by the end of this week.

Isn't this, what is inside the filter ic?
It is all about sharing...

;) Yes it is
I thought the rm in both stanges were different so 2 different combinations possible
Here the scheme to stop all unnecessary mist surrounding the dv800
The manual can als be found there

So far all of the 700s and dv800 i've touched sounded slightly different, probably due to age and callibration, but overall the sound of these are about the same
"FILTER MAINTENANCE- After every 100 hours of operation apply a sine wave to the output of the FILTER to back flush the trapped overtones to unclog your filter." - (EML 101 Manual)

having fixed a couple of dv's i would say the ms is more useful for experimental sounds but the dv is a players synth and sounds great...however to say parts are readily available is not true, I recall having to replace some rare transistors in the last one i fixed.

maybe get a mini ms and connect it with the original...more what your looking for..?
