if you just got a supernova ii you can take the nova off your list...even though it is small and knobby.

it'd be a wash sonically.

Could you give me some suggestions which other synths I should check out?
Ok, there seems to be a trend...you don't like VA or digital...because it is too thin. To me, you need to check out the Prophet 08 rack... I mean, if a virus, monomachine, and nord (I'm assuming, based on this the EMX isn't going to do it for you either) isn't going to do it for you...you need to go analog. Of course there are cheaper mono desktop units...but if you want poly with knobs, you are going to have to pay.

I went against my logic and followed my intuition. I bough a used EMX-1 (in a top notch condition). It was amazingly cheap. It has everything in a one simple to use package and is an extremely hands-on experience. But if my logic was right all along and I don't like the EMX-1's sounds etc., I can sell it and get all my money back, so I've actually lost nothing and I have actually tried using the EMX-1 and don't have to guess if I would have liked the machine or not.

The EMX-1 should arrive on Monday. If I don't like it, I'll sell it and check out the Prophet '08 module.
